Tool #11

Digital citizenship is definitely something that I strongly advise to be taught first and foremost.

Children need to understand the extent of technology and it's legal rights as well. I think a lot of children think that technology is fun- fun and does not require their responsible attitudes as users. I know that they don't think of specific legalities because of their child mentality yet it is our responsibility as teachers to make sure that they have technology awareness.

Tool 6

I made an error and posted my notes for Tool 6 and it was supposed to be for Tool 5.

Tool 6 -WIKIS
Students could definitely benefit from this tool. I think this a wonderful tool for students to use because it is an ongoing process. It helps the students coordinate information how they choose to. Nothing ever stays the same becasue it is always "under revision."

It is a tool that will always require students participation to continue.

I was not able to complete Tool 5. I tried many times and it did not allow me to get an account with DIIGO and Delicious.com. I would get notes saying the site was not accessible.

I became intensely frustrated and did not attempt to invest anymore time. I have a two year old who needs my attention!!!

ALERT: UPDATE: I felt like the DIIGO was a good tool since it allows you to review specific websites. It is also something that can be reccommended as a trusted site since you have someone who has previewed/evaluated the website already. I could use it for children to reserarch a specific topic such as habitats and have them share those websites to get a quick reference.

Tool 10

The IPHONE and ITOUCH are great tools for learning and using them for games. Our district provides a list with free APPS but I think that we need to be careful because some will charge you fees.

Tool 6

Tool #9

JING- Looks like it was be a great tool to use with the children. If JING suggest to use a video to share information then you could possible use it to give information to children when you are absent. You could make a video and specifically give instructions to students without your presence. The children could use it in many ways to pass on information.

THE good thing is that it is FREE!

SKYPE-This resource would be a great tool to use with children. I can see chatting with others in other countries and being able to have information on their education and how they are learning and what they are learning.

This is also FREE!! WOW! That is always a good thing!

This video could not have been completed without Myriam's help ( My best friend)! I think it would be a fanstastic fun tool for the children. If I am not able to do it alone then what will happen in my classroom?

These two videos are information that can be used by my students. She is one of our heroes we study. The only thing is that it took so long to try to include these on this tool. I am afraid I will have the same problems with the students. Does that mean all my instructional time will go to troubleshooting?

Tool #4

The google reader will be helpful when needing specific information for my students to learn. I think it will be helpful when doing the bird unit or the heroe units in second grade.

The animoto was fun to make and it will be a good thing for the children to use expression with music and words with wordle.

Tool Two

I think that online education is a good thing and is something that enhances learning. I guess I am alittle hesitant with all the new technology because I don't want it to take the place of HUMAN connection!!! I think that the Fatigued Teacher had some great points that reflect on the human connection. I like eye to eye learning and communication! It allows you to learn and observe those important human emotions. I am willing to learn, experience and change however, I want a balance and don't want technology taking over. Our sole purpose in our existence is to make that human contact. Technology is a strong force that can dominate.

TOOL ONE!

This was interesting. I attempted many times to make and save the Voki. With Eleanor's (our librarian) help I was able to finally complete it and feel some success.
